Rimon or Pomegranate
This painting creates the joyous feeling of the holiday table graced by the presence of a beautiful, vibrant Rimon/Pomegranate. Before the Chagim, Rimonim fill the supermarkets and shuks across Israel and one can observe as shoppers carefully hold and examine them for just the right color, size and shape to lend beauty, drama and tradition to heir holiday celebration. I especially love the variant reds, from a rich ruby, to soft pink with a blush of cream on the outer, leathery skin cut open to the translucent, rubies clustered inside. The Rimon is truly a feast for the senses and an integral part of Jewish tradition.
