Rimonim or Pomegranates growing at Neot Kedumim have inspired many of my paintings. The beautiful red fruit, slightly larger and more oblong than regular apples immediately capture one’s attention as you move through the Biblical landscape. I love the variations in color from a soft creamy yellow, through red (orange-to-red) and then the beautiful crimson (blued red) of matured fruit. Rimonim or Pomegranates are a feature of Rosh HaShana or the Jewish New Year. They symbolize the wish for abundance, particularly to be as plentiful as the seeds of the pomegranate. Rimonim are red, round and riveting, appealing to all your senses.
